The Farmer and the Thief

A thief made his home near the house of a farmer. The thief tried to steal from the farmer but ended up to mortally wounding the farmer's son by trying to defend himself. The man got away while the farmer was left there trying to save his son. Sad for the loss of his son, the farmer swore that he would get his revenge on the robber. The farmer left some of his most prized possessions out as bait for the thief. The next day the thief came back to get the possessions but was shot in the butt by the farmer. He messed up his aim so he didn't get a good shot on the man. The farmer realized that he was in trouble but the robber decided to run away. The farmer decided to make peace with the guy by laying some of his treasures at the front door of the thief's house. The thief came out of his house and said in a serious tone, "There cannot be peace between us since every time I see you I think about when you shot me and every time you see me you think of your son."
